
Annual Achievements Recognized following Strong Year
WOODBRIDGE, N.J., February 11, 2020 — The Kislak Company, Inc. announced the recipients of its 2019 sales awards along with promotions at the firm’s annual awards ceremony, which was held on January 30, 2019.
Vice president Justin Lupo received the Producer of the Year award, senior vice Barry Waisbrod received the Sima Kislak Jelin Salesperson of the Year award and executive vice president Peter Wisniewski received the Transactions award.
“2019 was a very strong year with more than 165 closed transactions throughout our primary markets of New Jersey, Pennsylvania and New York,” said Robert Holland, president. “It was gratifying and inspiring to see terrific deals put together by Kislak salespeople at varying stages of their careers. Very experienced salespeople came through with stellar performances, setting the bar high by closing on impressive deals. At the same time, many recent additions to the team learned from these talented mentors and completed their own important transactions. Across the board, there is the promise of continuing this high level of professional achievement.”
Kislak’s Producer of the Year award is presented to the individual who
generated the highest sales volume during the past year. Justin Lupo had an
extraordinary 2019 closing several large portfolio sales including a
three-property, 290-unit I.R.C. Section 1031 like-kind exchange in New Jersey
and Pennsylvania for $33,300,000 and a portfolio sale of three properties with
326 units in southern New Jersey for $24,500,000.
Mr. Lupo joined Kislak in 2014, was the recipient of the firm’s 2015 Rookie of the Year award and 2018 Sima Kislak Jelin Salesperson of the Year award and has become one of the firm’s leading salespeople with investment sales totaling $300 million. He specializes in the sale of multifamily and other investment properties in central New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania.
The Sima Kislak Jelin Salesperson of the Year award is presented to the
individual whose performance and professionalism
during the past year demonstrated the highest standards of excellence for which
Kislak is known. The recipient is chosen by a vote of the sales and management
teams. The award is named after the late Mrs. Jelin, who was an executive, key
mentor, and motivator to countless salespeople; and the daughter of the firm’s
founder, J.I. Kislak.
Mr. Waisbrod also had an extraordinary year with sales of $75 million and was
the deserved recipient of the prestigious award. His sales included more than
500 units and 100,000 square feet of commercial space in New Jersey and
Pennsylvania.
Mr. Waisbrod was the previous recipient of this award in 2013 and 2015. He joined
Kislak in 2001 and is consistently among the firm’s leading salespeople. He
specializes in the sale of investment properties in and around New Jersey.
The Transactions award is presented to the individual who closed the most transactions during the past year. Peter Wisniewski also had an extraordinary 2019 and was the recipient of this award for the third consecutive year. In 2019, he closed more than 30 lease and sales transactions in New Jersey including a full floor expansion and lease extension at a Class A corporate center along the Jersey City waterfront as well as a long term pharmaceutical production/ warehouse/distribution project on Evans Way in Branchburg, New Jersey.
Mr. Wisniewski joined Kislak in 2015 and leads the firm’s commercial sales and leasing division. Throughout his career, Wisniewski has leased or sold more than eight million square feet of commercial space and well over 1,500 acres of land and is actively growing Kislak’s presence in the New Jersey commercial real estate market.
In addition to the sales awards, two promotions were announced.
Davis Briones was promoted from a sales associate to vice president. He joined Kislak in 2014 and specializes in the sale of multifamily and other investment properties in Hudson County, New Jersey. Mr. Briones receive the firm’s 2016 Rising Star award.
Michael Salomon was also promoted from a sales associate to a vice president. He joined Kislak in 2013 and specializes in the sale of multifamily and other investment properties in Essex County, New Jersey.
