Jeffrey Wiener, a revered, highly successful broker who spent nearly five decades with The Kislak Co. Inc., including 17 years as its president, has died after a long illness. He was 75.
An obituary posted this week said Wiener passed away July 9 after a battle with progressive supranuclear palsy, leaving behind a large family and a network of fond colleagues throughout the commercial real estate industry. That includes those at Woodbridge-based Kislak, the storied brokerage firm, where he began in 1973 and served as president from 1995 to 2012.
“For many years, he was the top salesperson at Kislak and remains one of the all-time most successful brokers of multifamily properties in New Jersey,” his obituary reads. “After stepping down from the presidency, he remained active in the business that he loved for many years.”
A lifelong New Jersey resident, Wiener was born in Passaic on June 12, 1950. The obituary notes that he graduated from Tulane University in New Orleans and went to work on Wall Street, before moving to Kislak in the early 1970s and launching a career as a multifamily broker.
