Kislak Announces 2014 Sales Awards

WOODBRIDGE, N.J. — The Kislak Company, Inc., a leading commercial real estate firm in the tri-state region, announced the recipients of its 2014 sales awards at the company’s annual awards ceremony, which was held at the Red Knot at Galloping Hill in Kenilworth, New Jersey. Vice president Jeffrey Squires received the Producer of the Year award and vice president Scott Davidovic received the Sima Kislak Jelin Salesperson of the Year award.

“We are extremely proud to recognize Jeff and Scott as the recipients of our 2014 sales awards,” said Robert Holland, president. “They each had an extraordinary year closing many transactions, including the largest multifamily sale in New Jersey and one of the largest mixed-use sales in Hoboken. I thank them and our entire sales and support teams for their efforts and congratulate them on their well-deserved awards.”

Kislak’s Producer of the Year award is presented to the individual who generated the highest sales volume during the past year. Jeff Squires’ 2014 transactions included the $136 million sale of Rachel Gardens, a 764-unit multifamily complex in Montville, New Jersey.  It was the single largest sale of a multifamily property in New Jersey in terms of price since 2011 based on data available from CoStar. It is also among the largest multifamily properties in New Jersey. His other notable 2014 transactions included the $5,300,000 sale of Fountain Gardens, a multifamily property with 46 units in Long Branch; and the $5,270,000 sale of two properties with 62 residential units in Elizabeth. Squires represented both parties in each transaction.

Squires joined Kislak in 2007 and specializes in the sale of multifamily and other investment properties throughout northern New Jersey. After his first year with Kislak, he received the firm’s prestigious Rookie of the Year award and was subsequently promoted to vice president in 2009, becoming one of the youngest salespeople in Kislak’s then 104-year history to earn the distinction.

The Sima Kislak Jelin Salesperson of the Year award is presented to the individual whose performance and professionalism during the past year demonstrated the highest standards of excellence for which Kislak is known.  The recipient is chosen by a vote of the sales and management teams. The award is named after the late Mrs. Jelin, who was a company executive, key mentor, and motivator to countless salespeople; and the daughter of the company’s founder, J.I. Kislak.  

Davidovic’s 2014 transactions totaled more than $50,000,000 and included the $18,250,000 sale of a 16,000 square foot mixed-use portfolio in Hoboken that include 10 apartments and 10 retail spaces; the long-term ground lease of Union Bridge Apartments, a 115-unit multifamily property in Rutherford; the $7,000,000 sale of a redevelopment site in Hoboken; the $4,650,000 sale of two multifamily properties with 69 units in Elizabeth; and the $4,000,000 sale of another redevelopment site in Hoboken.

Davidovic joined Kislak in 2006 and specializes in the sale of multifamily properties with a focus on land and development throughout northern New Jersey. After his first year with Kislak, he received the firm’s prestigious Rookie of the Year award and was promoted to vice president in 2013.
