Kislak Announces 2013 Sales Awards

WOODBRIDGE, N.J. — The Kislak Company, Inc., the dominant investment real estate sales firm in the tri-state region, announced the recipients of its 2013 sales awards at the company’s annual awards ceremony, which was held at the Metuchen Inn in Metuchen, New Jersey. Senior vice president Joni Sweetwood received the Producer of the Year award and vice president Barry Waisbrod received the Sima Kislak Jelin Salesperson of the Year award.

“We are extremely proud to recognize Joni and Barry as the recipients of our 2013 sales awards,” said Robert Holland, president and co-managing director. “They had great success closing transactions during the past year as demand for investment properties, particularly multifamily properties, remained strong. They succeeded despite low inventory and interest rate fluctuations. I thank them, our entire sales team and support staff for their contributions and congratulate them on their well-deserved awards.”

Kislak’s Producer of the Year award is presented to the individual who generated the highest sales volume in the company during the past year, and this was Sweetwood’s third consecutive production award. Her 2013 transactions totaled more than $40,000,000 and include the $9,000,000 sale of a 36-unit multifamily property in Millburn, New Jersey; the $5,800,000 sale of a 96-unit multifamily property in Reading, Pennsylvania; and numerous other New Jersey multifamily sales throughout East Orange, Orange, Irvington, Elizabeth, Jersey City, Newark, Plainfield, Linden and Jersey City.

Sweetwood joined Kislak in 1996 and specializes in the sale of traditional and bank-owned multifamily and other investment properties.  She is a mentor to sales trainees, has won numerous other sales awards at Kislak and has been recognized repeatedly by the Mid Atlantic Real Estate Journal and Real Estate New Jersey for her sales accomplishments.  Throughout her career, Sweetwood has sold more than 18,500 residential units and over 1,025,000 square feet of commercial space.  

The Sima Kislak Jelin Salesperson of the Year award is presented to the individual whose performance and professionalism during the past year demonstrated the highest standards of excellence for which Kislak is known.  The recipient is chosen by a vote of the sales and management team.  The award is named after the late Mrs. Jelin, who was a company executive, key mentor, and motivator to countless salespeople; and the daughter of the company’s founder, J.I. Kislak.  

Waisbrod’s 2013 transactions totaled more than $25,000,000 and include the $8,325,000 sale of an 80-unit multifamily property in Toms River, New Jersey and the $5,350,000 sale of a 98-unit multifamily property in Trenton, New Jersey; and several other New Jersey multifamily sales throughout Hillside, Lindenwold, Middlesex, Perth Amboy, and Trenton.

Waisbrod joined Kislak in 2001 and specializes in the sale of multifamily and other investment properties throughout New Jersey.  He is consistently one of Kislak’s leading producers.  He has won numerous sales production awards at Kislak and has been recognized as one of Real Estate New Jersey's Commercial Broker All Stars for his multifamily sales accomplishments throughout the state.
